A Platinum claw set old cut Diamond single stone ring with tapered millegrain-set Diamond shoulders. This pre-owned Diamond has been expertly re-set with its original collet, taken from a period brooch, and paired with a new Platinum band and millegrain-set Diamond shoulders. This original collet is what gives this ring its one-of-a-kind appearance, its double claw setting subtly accentuating the effect of the over 1ct old cut stone. Old cut Diamonds are hand and eye cut stones, lacking the precision of the later brilliant cut, resulting in a softer and more romantic appearance. This gorgeous piece is the ideal engagement ring, combining vintage charm with the durability and practicality of a modern design, perfect for everyday wear. An 18ct yellow Gold claw set oval Diamond solitaire ring. Over three quarters of a carat of oval cut Diamond sit within four simple claws of an all 18ct yellow Gold ring. The claws holding in the stone provide security but also let light into the stone allowing it to shine. The oval cut stone is a modification of the round brilliant cut with the same number of facets (or sides) ensuring a similar level of sparkle, the nice thing about the oval cut is it's more elongated shape which provides a larger spread of stone over the finger to the carat weight, making it appear larger than a comparatively sized round cut. The simplicity of this ring setting has a modern and timeless feel, all in 18ct yellow Gold gives this ring a warmer look opposed to the Diamond being set in white metal, the Diamond is able to thrive in it's own right contrasting to the yellow Gold.
